HOWEVER, when I scanned my network using the "Advanced IP Scanner" program I noticed that the MAC address of this adapter appears to be 00:0F:00:72:FE:84 which was assigned to the now defunct company Legra Systems, Inc. This adapter was immediately recognized by the latest version of Raspbian and so far is working well. I'm using this WiFi adapter with an older Pi that lacks an integrated adapter. That said, I still have had great success and decent speeds out of this unit. Note: As with most WiFi adapters on a Raspberry Pi, you are not going to get full speed, the Pi simply can't supply the wattage required to hit the redline. Support in almost every Pi distro is built in with no need to tinker, just plug and go. Great Adapter.įantastic! So far, this WiFi adapter has had the best success across all my projects. I'm unsure if the Pre-N designation causes any trouble, since I am only using it for a G network.ĥ Well supported, out of the box success. I still get a rare dropped connection but nothing like the old one. Had trouble with the Edimax adapter dropping connections on my Raspberry Pi Zero, so I switched to this one and it seems to work a bit better. Electronic Dictionaries, Thesauri & Translatorsīetter for my Rasperry Pi than the Edimax, although it is considered Pre-N.
